Lindsay established elbow® as a long-standing studio practice, one that has threaded through his time at IDEO, MetaDesign, and BOND, serving as both the foundation and throughline for his approach. He now co-leads S—E Studio, a transatlantic collaboration with offices in the US and UK, where visual thinking and strategic vision coexist.
His work is often propelled by fundamental questions: What shape does our voice take? What binds the parts together, and what allows them to breathe? What narratives do we tell? For him, branding is a discipline of ideas—thoughtful, dimensional, and designed to endure—imbued with a deep sensitivity to expression.
Lindsay lives in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood with his wife and four cats. Outside of client work, he continues to explore the edges of his practice through type design, collage art, and electroacoustic music—each a further extension of his ongoing creative inquiry.
